“BlackLye” is the name of this creative project dedicated to bleaching custom textiles. Over the past five years, I have immersed myself in the exploration of various techniques and methods that utilise alkaline materials (chlorine and bleach) for the bleaching process.

The focus of this project extends beyond the technical aspects of bleaching to encompass the visual applications and artistic expressions. I have experimented with different fabrics, concentrations, and application methods to create unique designs that highlight the beauty of the bleaching process itself.

Through “BlackLye,” I aim to push the boundaries of textile art, merging science and creativity to produce stunning results that resonate with both aesthetic and functional appeal. Each piece tells a story of transformation, showcasing the potential of custom textiles and the innovative use of alkaline materials.
